Up to 180 marginal tentacles, without basal spurs in adult specimens; ocelli on about every second tentacle. Umbrella 20-25 mm wide, two or four times wider than high; manubrium cross-shaped, fairly large; mouth with short, slightly folded lips; gonads from corners of manubrium along half part of radial canals or almost to bell margin, sinuous; small abaxial spurs on young tentacles; cirri present (often lost after preservation); one cordylus between every two tentacles.
