Spicules of equal size and shape, 4-winged, tapering distally; edges in basal 1/4th smooth, distally with hooks or thorns, first one to three quartets needle-like; each with 40 thread-like myonemes. Basal pyramids small. Cell body spherical, central capsule opaque, brown-red. Ectoplasmic cortex single-layered. Diameter of cell body: 0.2-0.3 mm; spicule length: 0.8-1.3 mm; breadth of basal pyramids: 0.028-0.03 mm.
