Diacavolinia atlantica

Diagnosis: Shell hyaline, triangular in outline. Brown hue over entire shell surface. Ventral side vaulted, 39 thick, comb-shaped ventral ribs, flanks not pronounced, upper part of ventral side flat in outline. Dorsal side slightly convex, with well-developed central and lateral ribs; lock ribs small but strongly developed. Lateral lines convex; lock area well-developed, with large main, lunar, and small minor tubercle and link. Secondlock system present at upper level of attachment of spines to lateral lines. Sculpture of weak growth lines and very faint transverse striation. Lateral spines well-developed, slightly bent, relatively long, sharp, hooked; gutter corners large. Caudal spine and caudal spine mark absent. Dorsal lip with notch and constriction in broad gutter-shaped rostrum. Relatively small ventral lip with distinct median depression. No lip flaps; lip bellies well-developed, lip shoulders moderately developed. Hump absent. Central part of wings intensely brown. Protoconch II projecting slightly. Shell length 10.9 mm, width 9.6 mm.
