Sagitta maxima

Conant, 1896

Species of the lyra group. PT: 5-7, H: 4-8. The number of hooks is smaller off Africa than in the Antarctic. Moreover, Arctic specimens are larger (more than 90 mm) than Antarctic ones (55 mm). The teeth and hooks are brown, while clear amber in the two other species.

Distribution in the South Atlantic: Widespread species 1 Q.
