Hyperiella dilatata

Stebbing, 1888

Length 6-8 mm. Very like Hyperiella antarctica. Anterodistal corners of ART 2-4 of P V-VII produced into conspicuous sharp triangular processes (Hyperiella dilatata 2). Exopodite of UR III two thirds or more as broad as endopodite in males (Hyperiella dilatata 1). Posteroventral corner of epimeral plate I sharp. Ventral margins of epimeral plates II and III more or less straight. Bowman (1973) suggested that Hyperiella antarctica and Hyperiella dilatata may be conspecific, but did not formally combine them. No revision of the genus appeared after his work.
