Eusiroides stenopleura

K. Barnard, 1932

Length to 25 mm. Rostrum short. Faceted eyes reniform, but within cuticle, surrounded by round patch of reddish pigment occupying nearly whole side of head, dorsally almost contiguous with its counterpart (K. Barnard, 1932). Accessory flagellum of ANT I scale-like, fused with peduncular ART 3, almost unnoticeable. ART 2 of mandibular palp expanded. All coxal plates not as high as the pereonites; coxae I-IV wider than high. CX I subquadrangular, not projecting below ventral margin of head, slightly produced anteriorly. ART 2 of P VII wide, with broad posterior lobe, posterior margin smooth or finely serrate. Epimeral plate III with smooth margin, posteroventral corner at almost 90°, ventrally with row of submarginal spines. Telson 50-70 % cleft. Live animals red.
