Shell small (less than 2.0 mm), with the outer body whorl notably more inflated (almost circular in cross section) than the previous species. Keel relatively low, thin and seemingly less strongly calcified than in Atlanta inflata. Spire of about 4 and 1/2 whorls, with evenly-spaced spiral sculpture that is variable in expression but, as a rule, is coarser and more prominent than in Atlanta inflata. Coloration constantly yellowish. Eyes type c (the only species in the genus Atlanta with this eye type). Radula very similar to that of Atlanta inflata, with a similar sexual dimorphism.
