Anterior nectophore with variable number of often incomplete longitudinal ridges. Hydroecium extends to or above ostial level and is open ventrally. Large ovate, often indistinct, somatocyst. Inner margins of mouth plate with distinct but variable cog-like serrations; outer margins rounded. Posterior nectophore and eudoxid stage not known. Rare species only known from tropical waters.
