Acanthostaurus bipennis

Main spicules linear, sword-shaped, slightly to strongly compressed, two- to four-edged; of nearly equal breadth over whole length. Apex bifid. Remaining spicules strongly compressed, lanceolate. Base with small leaf-cross. Four equatorial spicules of same form as sixteen others, but twice as long and as broad. About 20 myonemes. Length of 4 major spicules: 0.4 to 0.5 mm, breadth: 0.02 mm; length of 16 secondary: 0.2 to 0.3 mm, breadth: 0.01 mm.
