Radial spicules stout, cylindrical in inner half, conical in shorter outer half, each producing cross-like quartet of unbranched apophyses which connect with those of neighboring spicules to form lattice shell with 22 mesh apertures. Meshes of shell six to eight times as broad as bars. Diameter of shell: 0.12 mm; breadth of spicules and bars: 0.008 to 0.01 mm.
