Aconthaspis capillata

Haeckel, 1887

Shell very dark and thick walled, opaque, with very numerous (300-400 or more?) deep funnel-shaped dimples, each perforated by small circular pore (40 aspinal, 200-300 coronal, and 50-100? sutural pores). High crests between dimples with very numerous simple accessory spines, nearly half as long as radius, so shell appears covered with hairs. Radial main spicules very long and thin, cylindrical, longer than diameter of shell. Diameter of shell: 0.2 mm, of pores: 0.012 mm.
