Turborotalita humilis

(Brady, 1884)

Spinose. Specimens from sediments spineless, with thick calcite crust (this feature also commmon to other species, such as Sphaeroidinella dehiscens or Turborotalita clarkei). Spines mostly peripherical because of very low trochospiral morphology. Symbionts are chrysophytes, as in Globigerinella siphonifera.

Ref.: Holmes (1984).

Distribution: Temperate to subtropical, dwells in the photic zone.

Remark: = Globigerina humilis and = Globigerina cristata.
