Representatives of this family have not been observed in the South Atlantic, but are common in the plankton of the World Ocean. Two genera:
Hyperiopsis with globular head, small coxae IV, broadly expanded ART 4 of P III-IV
Parargissa with large coxae IV (which covering coxae II-III), slender ART 4 of P III-IV.
