Two nectophores differing in size. The larger, rounded one is believed to be the retained larval nectophore. The first definitive one is smaller (genus Maresearsia) or vestigial (genus Amphicaryon). The bracteal canals are reduced to two long hydroecials. The bracts of the three species of the genus Amphicaryon cannot be distinguished at present.
