Familia Conaconidae

All spicules of equal length (0.1-0.2 mm long) with two opposite edges sharp and serrate; others smooth. Bases of spicules conical, quadrangular in cross section, loosely linked in cell center, embedded in central mass of contractile material. Cell body spherical. Endoplasm clear, some zooxanthellae. Tiny polygonal, birefringent plates form just before encystment. Very thin capsular wall. Ectoplasm transparent.
