Solitary zooids: up to 72 mm long (Pegea bicaudata). Body of larger specimens with faint and diffuse red coloration. Nucleus orange. Body spheroidal, tapering sharply at the atrial siphon. MI to MII fused in the mid-dorsal line. MIII to MIV contiguous dorsally but not fused. Mean number of muscular fibers: MI: 34; MII: 35; MIII: 24; MIV: 17.
Aggregate zooids: up to 80 mm long (Pegea bicaudata 1). With two tails arising from the postero-lateral corners of body. MI to MII and MIII to MIV contiguous dorsally but not fused. Mean number of muscular fibers: MI: 26; MII: 27; MIII: 25; MIV: 24.
