Pink or yellowish pink, cylindrical, finger-shaped colonies (sketch of a colony, longitudinal section). Characteristically provided with numerous longer or shorter truncate test processes which taper into a tip. Size up to 60 cm by 4-6 cm. Zooids basically arranged in more or less parallel rows, which are mostly obscured. Oral and cloacal siphons appreciably narrower than the branchial basket (Detail of an ascidiozooid). Sexually mature zooids are found in colonies over 4-6 cm long.
