Oxycephalus latirostris

Claus, 1889

Length 12-15, rarely 20 mm. Integument thin. Females dimorphism lacking. Head with convex ventral, slightly convex dorsal, margins; rostrum triangular, twice as short as whole head. Top of rostrum more blunt than in Oxycephalus piscator or Oxycephalus clausi. ART 2 of P I narrow, linear, slightly S-curved, subequal to distal ART combined (Oxycephalus latirostris 1); ART 5 slightly expanded distally, with smooth margins (anterior margin slightly convex, posterior margin almost straight, with few setae). Posterodistal process of ART 5 of P I sharp, broadly triangular, curved apically, subequal to oval ART 6; chela with inner margins finely serrate, with rows of strong submarginal setae. P II like P I but moderately larger, ART 6 more elongate. ART 2 of P V-VI broadened, but not as strongly as in other two species (especially in P V), with strong setae on posterior margin. Epimeral plates without denticles. Telson distally serrate.
