Phronima sedentaria

Length to 42 mm (females), to 15 mm (males). In females (Phronima sedentaria 1), pleon and urosoma (including UR) combined 1.06±0.02 times as long as head and pleon combined; pleonite I 0.84±0.02 times as long as pereonite VII. Carpal process of P V well-developed, subequal in length to main article's body (Phronima sedentaria 3); carpal tubercle strong, bifid or single, with 6-7 tooth-like projections, distal tip of tubercle slightly extended beyond posterior ("ventral") margin of ART 6. ART 6 longer than palm of ART 5, with metacarpal tubercle. Outer and inner margins of same UR subequal.
In males, pleon and urosoma (including UR) combined 1.13±0.04 times as long as head and pleon combined; pleonite I slightly shorter than pereonite VII. ANT II rudimentary, with only 2-articulated peduncle. Carpal process of P V short, not prolonged as far as posterior ("ventral") margin of ART 6 (Phronima sedentaria 2); carpal tubercle low, with separate anterior tooth; ART 6 longer than palm of ART 5, no metacarpal tubercle. Exopodite longer than endopodite in UR II, UR I and III with subequal rami.
