Has not yet been recorded in the South Atlantic Ocean. It has been reported from warm waters in the Atlantic Ocean (Dales and Peter, 1972), the Agulhas and Mozambique Currents (Day, 1967), and from warm and cold waters in the Pacific Ocean (Treadwell, 1943; Uschakov, 1955; Berkeley and Berkeley, 1960; Fernández-Álamo, 1983, 1992).
