Diagnosis: Shell spheroidal to ovoidal, with stout spine at aboral pole, usually erect, sometimes sloping ventrally. Surface with numerous horizontal and vertical ridges, dividing surface into rather regular squares. Oral rim with 3 small legs and one large chambered leg. Large leg with 2 short, proximal, lateral thorns, and distal auxiliary branch. Small legs with 2 short distal thorns and 2 long, slender, proximal spines.

Length: 0.06-0.95 mm.
