Sixteen diametral spindle-shaped spicules; at times, one or both main spicules longer, stouter, or otherwise different from others; twisted and fused at center, forming central kernel. Cell body spherical or ovoid. Length of largest spicule: 0.3 mm, diameter: 0.004-0.006 mm.
