Strobilidium typicum

Body elongate, posterior portion widened sac-like. Oral cavity large, invaginating on anterior surface. Two macronuclear nodules, 1 micronucleus. Contractile vacuole on posterior pole. Cytoplasm strongly vacuolized. Somatic ciliature lacking(?). Adoral zone almost as wide as body, forming closed circle in top view, composed of approximately 30 membranelles. Size in vivo about 80 x 60 µm. Re-investigation with modern silver impregnation needed to confirm generic classification.
