Genus Doliolum

Quoy and Gaimard, 1834

Larval stage tailed, with elongate envelope. Without intermediate vesicle between tail and cephalo-enteron. Young oozooids with straight alimentary canal in the sagittal plane; endostyle from M2 to M5; stomach between M5 and M6 or at M6. Old nurse with muscular bands fused into continuous sheath. Gastrozooids are described only in Doliolum denticulatum. Both phorozooids and gonozooids with alimentary canal forming a wide dextral arch around the cloacal floor. Anus parietal, on the right side.
