Genus Pegohyperia

Large animals. All pereonites free, with rounded transverse folds (Pegohyperia princeps 1). Body elongate in both sexes. Head short, with well-developed, triangular, sharp lateral lobes. Eyes large, without facets, with two fields of different colour, dark and pale, resembling vertebrae. Coxae free; coxae III-V much deeper, than others. ANT I of female with large laminate flagellum. MD with palp in both sexes; molar laminate, triangular. P I and II distinctly chelate (Pegohyperia princeps 2); processes of ART 5 laterally compressed, knife-shaped, serrate. This process may be longer or shorter than ART 6. P III-VIII simple, P V and VI only slightly longer, than other. Telson nearly as long as basipodites of UR III.
