Diagnosis
Cylindrical, elongate, chalice-shaped lorica bowl, highly variable in size. Oral rim entire or toothed; some species showing an outer, velum-like oral ridge. Wall totally hyaline or, less frequently, partially or entirely striated. With or without an aboral horn of variable length.
