Diagnosis
Phaeodaria with simple, ovate, hemispherical, or cap-shaped shell of areolate structure (resembling diatom areolae), with hollow articulate feet surrounding a widely open mouth. Distinctive tubular feet (or legs) are subdivided by numerous, equally spaced transverse septa.
