Pegea confoederata

Solitary zooids: up to 90 mm long (Pegea confoederata). Young individuals often unpigmented, older ones with yellow or reddish-brown reticulate pattern over the entire body. Nucleus reddish brown. MI to MII and MIII to MIV strongly fused in the mid-dorsal line. Mean number of muscular fibers: MI: 31; MII: 29; MIII: 23; MIV: 16. Mature stolon describing one turn around the gut.

Aggregate zooids: up to 110 mm long (Pegea confoederata 1). Transparent or with reticulate rust-colored pigmentation around oral and atrial openings. Nucleus reddish-brown. MI to MII and MIII to MIV strongly fused in the mid-dorsal line. Mean number of muscular fibers: MI: 14; MII: 14; MIII: 13; MIV: 12.
