Eu. 8 Horizontal distribution

Euphausiacea
Horizontal distribution

Rather than present a detailed account of the euphausiid assemblages in the different areas of the South Atlantic, reference is made to Tables 1a and 1b, 2, 3a, 3b and 3c for the sake of brevity.
Tables 1a and 1b provide summarised global limits for all species encountered in the region, whilst Table 2 describes the characteristic species of the zoogeographic assemblages identified previously:

Table 2. Characteristic [l][m]Glossary[/m][r]species[/r]species of the zoogeographic provinces identified in # Schem. map of zoogeographic:

It will be noted that [l][m]Glossary[/m][r]species[/r]species of wider distribution (especially the mesopelagic species) are missing from these tables and their distribution patterns must be sought from Tables 3a, 3b and 3c, which indicate the regional areas in which the species are encountered.
