Kofoid C.A., Campbell A.S. 1929. A conspectus of the marine and freshwater Ciliata belonging to the suborder Tintinnoinea, with description of new species principally from the Agassiz Expedition to the Eastern Tropical Pacific 1904-1905. Univ. California Pub. Zool., 34:1-403.
This treatise is the most widely used revision on tintinnids. It includes descriptions, illustrations and synonymies of all the species erected until 1929, most of which are renamed and reorganized in a new classification system.

The most complete systematic revision based on tropical oceanic materials. Modifies some of the systematic criteria presented in the earlier (1929) publication. Includes excellent original illustrations for all the taxa treated.
