Ctenophora

Of the 150 species distributed world wide, 17 species have been recorded from the South Atlantic. They are exclusively marine, planktonic or benthic (one order), solitary organisms with gelatinous soft bodies.

Identification
There are two classes in the Phylum Ctenophora: Class Tentaculata (with tentacles) and Class Nuda (without tentacles). There is no key available, identification of species must be done by comparing order, family and species level diagnoses.
