Main features of larvae are long, slender body, compressed in tail region, depressed head (Bertelsen et al., 1976). Eyes narrow, with longer horizontal axis. Anus at about mid-body, widely separated from anal fin origin. Melanophore pattern in the caudal region useful in species identification.
