Ordo Elopiformes


Elopidae larvae without an appreciable distance between origin of anal and dorsal fin. Larvae of elopid Elops spp. (Family Elopidae; Elops sp) with more myomeres (more than 70) than those of Megalops sp. (Family Megalopidae; Megalops atlanticus) (Richards, 1969a, 1984).
