Small (6 mm) animals. Body robust (Tryphana malmi 1). Head globular, shorter and higher than pereon. Eyes cover almost all head surface. Flagellum of ANT I 2-articulated in female, 3-articulated with broad basal ART in male. Flagellum of ANT II with short apical ART in male. MD with 3-articulated palp in male, 2-articulated palp in female. Maxillae I and II reduced, but present (Tryphana malmi 4). P I and II simple. Dactyl of P I long, straight, covered by numerous setae (Tryphana malmi 2). ART 2 very broad in P I, broad in P II (Tryphana malmi 3). P III-VI stout, with prominent gland in ART 5, distally prehensile, with dactyl closing against produced distal margin of ART 6. P V longer than VI. Endopodites of all UR free. Telson free.
