Genus Leptocotis

Body elongate. Head longer than pereon, produced into long pointed rostrum; females with weak, males clearly defined, neck (Leptocotis tenuirostris 1). Coxae free. P I and II chelate. P VII with full number of ART. Fused urosomite (II+III) more than 3 times as long as wide, fused with telson. UR I with reduced spine-like endopodite. Endopodite of UR II fused in females, free in males. UR III shorter than telson, exopodite large and fused, endopodite free but reduced.

Monotypic.
