Small or medium-large animals (5-20 mm). Body fairly compact. Head globular, shorter than pereon. Eyes large, occupying most of head surface. Female ANT II rudimentary or absent. Male flagellum of ANT II with apical ART short or reduced. Male MD with palp, female without. Maxillae I and II reduced, but present. Coxae free. P I and II subchelate or chelate, with dentate margin of ART 5. ART 2 of P I not markedly broadened. P V and VI subequal in length. P VI with distal ART attached to ART 2 terminally or subterminally. P VII with full number of ART. Endopodites and basipodites of UR all free. Telson free.
