Small animals. All pereonites free (Laxohyperia vespuliformis 1). Coxal plates free. Epimeral plates small, so pleon looks thin. Head higher than pereon and longer than pereonites I-II taken together, its height exceeds its length. Eyes large. MD with palp in females. MX I with short apical spines on outer lobes. MXP with developed inner lobe (Laxohyperia vespuliformis 2). P I-II with poorly defeloped chela formed by blunt petaloid distal process of ART 5 and petaloid posterior part of ART 6; dactyls attached subapically (Laxohyperia vespuliformis 3).
