Diagnosis
First pereopod without exopod. Carpopropodus of endopods of 3rd to 8th pereopods not joined. Female with 7 pairs of oostegites. No statocyst on endopod of uropods. Includes 4 genera and about 28 species.
Most species are bathypelagic or epibenthic at considerable depths.
Only one species has been recorded from the South Atlantic.
