Haeckel, 1879
Diagnosis
Two concentric spherical or subspherical shells connected by numerous thin radial bars. Inner shell simple, spherical or ovate, solid or latticed, with broad mouth. Outer shell spherical or polyhedral, a loosely constructed polygonal network of hollow tangential tubes separated by astral stellate septa at nodal points. Radial tubes extend from nodes, and are not extensions of the thin radial bars connecting inner and outer shells. Rarely found.
