Among 20 spicules, 2-6 differ in shape, longer and stronger than others. Spicules assembled into central mass resembling star, at half-length with thick armored plates with numerous spines at external surface and pores edged with serrate rings. Plates also with sheets surrounding all spicules or only major ones. Endoplasm in armored shell. Capsular wall outside of shell. Eight to 12 myonemes.
