Familia Chlorophthalmidae


Larval development of Chlorophthalmus agassizi and one post-flexion larva of C. atlanticus have been described (Tåning, 1918; Olivar and Fortuño, 1991) (Chlorophthalmus atlanticus). With short guts, distinctive peritoneal melanophore patch and conspicuous melanophore at the hypural complex. Late larvae with anterior dorsal and pelvic fins, large pre-anal interspace. Parasudis fraser brunneri larvae not known, but adults similar to those of P. truculenta, whose post-larvae were described by Hartel and Stiassny (1986).
