Krüger, 1939
Diagnosis corresponding to that of the family since only a single genus has been recognized.
Godeaux and Meurice (1978) are inclined to recognize a single species, Doliopsoides meteori, described by Krüger (1939) from the Atlantic Ocean. Tokioka and Berner (1958a, b) described another closely related species, Doliopsoides horizoni, from the tropical Pacific Ocean off Peru. However, Godeaux and Meurice (1978) believe that the observed differences may result from poor preservation of the material. Recently, Godeaux (1996) described another closely related species, Doliopsoides atlanticum, from the Northwestern Atlantic Ocean, based on a different appearance of the genital complex.
