Genus Hyperoche

Bovallius, 1887

Medium-size animals. All pereonites free (Hyperoche medusarum 1). Body globular in females, slender in males, as in Hyperia. Coxae free. Head globular, without lateral lobes and rostrum. ANT I with 3-articulated peduncle. Mandibular palp present in both sexes; molar strong, laminate, triangular, nearly smooth; incisor broad, smooth. MXP with inner lobe well-developed. P I and II chelate, distal processes of ART 5 compressed laterally (Hyperoche cryptodactylus 1, Hyperoche cryptodactylus 2, Hyperoche martinezi 1). P III-VII subequal. P III and IV with posterior margin of ART 5 produced into thin ridge which may end distally in a tooth.
