Lateral surface of head with 2 concavities separated by ridge running obliquely posteroventral of inter-ANT lobe (Scypholanceola aestiva 2). Eyes without refracting elements or pigment, in form of band with ends lying in concavities, connected across ridge.
Two species in genus. Single species in the South Atlantic.
