[Cubo-/Scyphomedusae] Appendages of the mouth-arms of certain rhizostomes, situated near the base on the outer side of each. Typically, like the rest of the mouth-arms, they support numerous mouthlets. Found in the genera Eupilema, Rhopilema, Rhizostoma and Stomolophus which together comprise the superfamily Scapulatae (sensu Kramp, 1961). Formerly termed epaulettes.
