[Cubo-/Scyphomedusae] Wart-like structures richly supplied with nematocysts, or "sting capsules", found on the exumbrellae of many medusa species, and in other positions. Some are elongate, almost papillate (e.g. Pelagia flaveola and Lobonema smithii. Cephea has relatively massive exumbrellar structures of (somewhat) irregular shape inappropriately referred to as warts.
