[Cubo-/Scyphomedusae] A region of the subumbrella having musculature. In most genera the fields are regular in shape and arrangement. Circular or coronal muscle-fields have the muscle folds (see muscle folds) arranged parallel with the bell margin, and in radial muscle-fields they are arranged radially.
