[Cubo-/Scyphomedusae] The box jellyfish. The Cubozoa, usually given the rank of class, includes just a single order, the Cubomedusae, and the terms can often be interchanged without alteration of meaning. They correspond in rank to the Scyphozoa and the two included groups Stauromedusae and Scyphomedusae. The spelling cubomedusae is the English-language term, and has the same scope as the taxon-name Cubomedusae.
