[Cubo-/Scyphomedusae] (1) A club-shaped extension (lateral or terminal) of the mouth-arm, typically differing noticeably in structure from it. In some genera they may be paddle-shaped (Cassiopea), in others three-sided (Mastigias) or circular (some in Rhopilema) in section; (2) (arch.) For example, as in sensory club, perradial club - a rhopalium.
